Brooklands have been awarded the maximum 5 star food hygiene rating from Oldham Borough Council.
Your child will recieve a two course lunch which is prepared buy our cook, Valerie, using fresh ingredients on a daily basis. All dietary requirements are catered for.
The children receive a morning and afternoon snack where fresh fruit / vegetables are always offered. Daily snack menus are available on request.
At meal times, the children sit around small tables in groups. As well as learning to eat correctly, they also interact and learn important social skills.
Brooklands Private Day Nursery is based in the borough of Greenacres within Oldham. Our staff are committed to providing the highest standards of professional childcare & education. We work with your child, helping them to develop & learn.
Typical duties include:
- Taking care of your child, playing, feeding & changing them;
- Planning activities, such as singing, cooking, arts & crafts to encourage your child's development;
- Reading stories & providing other activities to develop language skills;
- Helping your child to learn number skills - for example, counting games;
- Keeping records of your child's progress & sharing that information with you;
- Being aware of health & safety and making sure your child is safe, reporting any concerns.
We aim to encourage your child to develop their abilities to their highest potential, in an enjoyable way.
Outside, we can proudly offer a large grassed area with climbing equipment & structures to encourage imaginative play. There is a large hard area (completely covered in a protective rubber flooring) for wheeled toys & ball games, along with an outside playhouse. We also have a decking area with canopy to cater for small children which leads directly from the nursery.

Prior to joining the nursery, all staff are thoroughly vetted including CRB checks (criminal records), a medical reference & 2 written references.
Brooklands Private Day Nursery is committed to providing training and development for all staff including: NVQ Level 2, 3 and 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development, First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Child Development. We pride ourselves in keeping our staff long term and many of the staff at the nursery are mature mothers themselves. Photographs of all the staff are situated within the nursery.
Each child at Brooklands Private Day Nursery Oldham, will be allocated a member of staff as their key worker. The key worker will have responsibility for a small group of children. The role of the key worker is to help children and families settle in to the nursery and provide consistent care and support to each child. The key worker is responsible for documenting your child's milestones and achievements in their developmental profile and would be your first point of contact to discuss your child's care or development.
